Thumpy, Thumpy, In My Ears

What happens when it's nice outside, the kids roll the windows in the car & the thumpy air pressure makes you crazy? Here's a little song I sing when it happens in our car. I have heard many friends (and my hubs) say, "Sheesh, I just yell at them to roll the windows up & lock them!"

Well here is another option next time you're in that situation!
Lyrics:
Thumpy, thumpy in my ears.
Not a sound I like to hear.
Roll your window up my dear.
Thumpy, thumpy in my ears.

Pata Numero Uno

Saying "pata" reminds me of my late mother-in-law, Betty Perez. Isn't she beautiful...I loved when she'd play with baby Jackson's "patas" (cute name for feet...not literally.. :))

...this song came along a few years later, while getting my youngest baby dressed. When you have 3 babies in 3 years, it helps to sing songs to remind them of what is happening next. And it helps a tired, tired momma too. I would be sitting on the floor with a toddler running around the room, start singing this song & he's come running to get dressed!

Pata Numero Uno:
Pata numero uno, pata numero dos
Pata numero uno, pata numero dos

Yo tengo dos patas
Yo tengo dos manos
Yo tengo dos ojos
Yo tengo dos orejas.

Pata numero uno, pata numero dos
Pata numero uno, pata numero dos

[sing faster & faster & faster & faster!]

bonus: a version recorded on my awesome Chipmunk app on my phone. You can select a "Munk-Me" feature.

Get Your Hands Outta Your Pants

Guest post by our amazing Mrs. Karalee who has taken the most beautiful, wonderful care of my children for many years now! As they were walking home from the park, this song just flowed right out of her. :)

[to the tune of "If You're Happy & You Know It."]

Get your hands outta your pants, won't you please?
Get your hands outta your pants, won't you please?
Get your hands outta your pants & we'll do a little dance,
Get your hands outta your pants, won't you please?

NINE Little Reindeer

This song is a variation of the original, "The 5 Little Pumpkins"...
(which I'll have to post another time. Google it, you'll get a zillion & kids go CRAZY for it!)

Nine little Reindeer waiting at the gate...

The first one said, “Oh my it’s getting late!”

The second one said, “There’s a blizzard in the air...”

The third one said, “Well we don’t care.”

The forth one said “Let’s run & run & run!”

The fifth one said “I’m ready for some fun!”

WooooOOO off they flew & into the night,

....the nine little reindeer flew out of sight.

Let's Put it All Away!

This song first came about at bath time, when my oldest was a baby. We have been singing it ever since & here is our youngest of 3, Micah. This IS our clean up song. It works like a charm wherever you need to clean up!

Lyrics:
Let's put it all away, put it all away. We've got to put it all away.
We'll put it all away, put it all away. We've got to put it all away.

We'll put it in the box, put it in the box. We've got to put it in the box.
We'll put it in the box, put it in the box. We've got to put it in the box.

or...

We'll throw it in the trash, throw it in the trash. We've got to throw it in the trash.
We'll throw it in the trash, throw it in the trash. We've got to throw it in the trash.

You get the idea. Sing, sing, sing until it's ALL PUT AWAY!

The Reindeer Pokey

I have the privilege to lead my son's kindergarten class in music on Fridays & what a fun way to volunteer! As a former elementary music teacher, I love having the opportunity to bring my guitar in & lead them in singing. At Christmas time, we have so many wonderful, fun songs to choose from...but I think this past week, I may have found my favorite yet! We will definitely be dancing this one in our church kids choir too! I did not come up with this, but I also cannot find where I originally found it either. So, kuddos to whoever you are! Also, sing the chorus wherever you want.

Ladies & Gentleman.....the REINDEER POKEY!!!!

You put your ANTLERS in, you put your ANTLERS out
You put your ANTLERS in & you shake 'em all about
You do the REINDEER pokey & you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

You put your RIGHT HOOVES in, you put your RIGHT HOOVES out
You put your RIGHT HOOVES in, & you shake 'em all about.
You do the REINDEER pokey & you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

::CHORUS:: (dance in a circle with antlers on your head, wiggling your tail)
You do the REINDEER POKEY!
You do the REINDEER POKEY!
You do the REINDEER POKEY!

You put your LEFT HOOVES in, you put your LEFT HOOVES out

You put your LEFT HOOVES in & you shake 'em all about
You do the REINDEER pokey & you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

You put your TAIL in, you put your TAIL out
You put your TAIL in & you shake it all about
You do the REINDEER pokey & you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

::CHORUS::

You put your RED NOSE in, you put your RED NOSE out
You put your RED NOSE in & you shake it all about
You do the REINDEER pokey & you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

::CHORUS::

Ol' Mr. Longneck

This song is to be sung at meal time so that the crazy dino, Ol' Mr. Longneck can try to steal food! I have been know to pull him out in the car or van. The dashboard is a great place for this dino to walk around.

Lyrics:
Ol' Mr. Longneck, I like to tap my feet.
Ol' Mr. Longneck, I like to tap my feet.
I like to dance & I like to skate,
I like to eat your food off your plate....."NO!!"
Ol' Mr. Longneck, I like to tap my feet.

Micah's Diaper's Falling Down

[to the tune of London Bridges]

Of course, use whatever name you choose!

{Micah's} diaper's falling down
Falling down, Falling down
Micah's diaper's falling down
Fix, this diaper.

Won't you fix my diaper please?
Diaper please? Diaper please?
Won't you fix my diaper please?
Fix - My - Diaper.

Now my diaper's Fixed you know!
Fixed you know! Fixed you know!
Now my diaper's Fixed you know!

It's time to play now!
